Our Story

Architect Ostap "Maestro" Pavlovsky lived in Lviv. And he was very oppressed by the architectural mistakes made in the city by his predecessors for almost eight centuries.

And the Maestro once said:
"Why not build me my own Lviv. But not simple, but Radiant. And there will be that Lviv, more beautiful, kinder, more comfortable, more fabulous than the existing one, because I will correct all the architectural mistakes of Russians, Poles, Armenians, Austrians, Jews and Soviets. Finally, understand: Lviv is not people, it is houses. Destroy all the houses of Lviv - and the entire tourist business will end, no matter how delicious coffee, beer or cakes are made here!"

This is how the construction of the Shining City - stained glass houses began! The maestro, together with his partner Garry Malchaliv, started his studio, where he taught masters the unique craft of volumetric stained-glass windows of the Tiffany technology in the form of real houses of the city of Lviv. Tiffani technology allows you to create a round sculpture - strong three-dimensional stained glass structures.

The maestro developed drawings of houses in the Jewish quarter, Copernicus' house, Mozart's house, Bruges castle, Gasov Lampa's restaurant building, drawings of Boykivska hut, Poltava hut, Baroque villa, country girl, Greek church and hundreds of other individual projects.

On February 24, war broke out in Ukraine, and stained glass windows were the first to fly out and be destroyed by an explosive wave. But in the case of houses, they have become mobile homes for Ukrainian refugees in Europe. They provide the warmth of a native Ukrainian home in different parts of the world.

The Maestro's heart stopped beating on April 25, 2023. He was 57 years old. Ostap graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Lviv Polytechnic in 1990. He designed such well-known objects as the Catholic University in Lviv, the Lviv-Arena stadium... and much more.

From the beginning of the establishment of the Post-Postup newspaper in 1990, Ostap was the main artist and responsible secretary of the weekly. He drew every number. Then there was great architecture. Stained glass houses appeared as a hobby. Ostap gave them to friends for birthdays and anniversaries. But something new is born from the hobby. In 2015, together with Gari Malchaliv, they decided to create Architect Pavlovsky Lamp Studio. And they went bankrupt three times. But then they decided to start again and today master stained-glass windows, artists, designers and many cleaners work in the Studio (the work requires thorough cleaning - glass dust, flux, patina, tin and remnants of copper tape).

The Studio's works shine in the private collections of the Maestro's fans in dozens of countries around the world, such as West Palm Beach and Greenwich (USA), Jinshan (China), Wolverhampton (England), Luxembourg (Luxembourg), Pisochyn (Ukraine), Zaporizhzhia, and other famous cities and countries.
All geniuses seek recognition in their homeland. Unfortunately, this does not happen in their lifetime.
We suspect that Maestro Pavlovsky was a genius because he behaved like a Weltburger. Let's see what happens next.

Ostap left behind a legacy of unrealized projects, both in stained glass and in large-scale architecture. One of these projects is the central underground station in Lviv from the High Castle. All trains, buses, and cars drive into the middle of the mountain from the Pidzamche side, and people leave on foot from the many exits to Pidvalna Street. In this way, cars do not enter the city. And the disabled will be able to take the elevator from the underground parking lot to the High Castle. Maestro Pavlovsky left many more interesting projects for us to work on. And he rests in the peace of God.
